State party unit president K Laxman says his party will launch State-wide agitation if its demand is not met

Hyderabad: State unit of the BJP on Monday demanded that a judicial inquiry be ordered into the Intermediate Public Examinations-2019 results. It warned the government that it would launch a state-wide agitation if judicial inquiry was not ordered.

Telangana BJP president K Laxman, while condemning the indiscriminate lathi charge on students and arresting the BJYM and ABVP members for protesting against the irregularities in the Intermediate Public Examinations-2019, said, "It reflects the State government's attitude to crush the right to protest."

Reiterating the party's demand for free reverification and revaluation of the answer sheets of the students, Laxman pointed out that tens and thousands of students are subjected to stress by the irregularities in the declaration of results.

"While some who have got zero are awarded 99 marks on revaluation. Some who have attended the examination were shocked to see that they were absent from the examination.

The Education Minister should should give explanation, he said Terming it unfortunate to see the Board and the State Education Department (SED) trying to dismiss charges of irregularities as apprehensions, he said, it was not expected at a time when the students were worried about their future.

Expressing doubts over any meaningful outcome from a three-member committee appointed by the State government, he alleged that the Board was trying to shift the burden entirely onto the teachers and staff.

He asked why students who are not at fault should pay the fee for revaluation and reverification.

Laxman said that his party had alerted the State government on the Board failing to properly conduct the examinations. However, it had fallen on deaf ears.
