JNTUH announces schedule for end-semester examinations
The JNTUH clarified that for the purpose of attendance in case of detention, students should be given full attendance for the lockdown period Regarding the pattern of examination, the students will be asked to answer five questions out of eight given, in a 'five out of eight question pattern'
Hyderabad: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTUH) announced the schedule of various semester-end examinations on Thursday.
The JNTUH, Director of Evaluation, Prof. Dr V Kamalakshi Prasad said on Thursday, that the B.Tech and B.Pharma IV year II semester examinations will commence from June 20. Examinations for the regular course of the first year second semester, second-year first semester and third-year second semester examinations of B.Tech and B.Pharma will be held from July 16. Similarly, the supplementary examinations of B.Tech and B.Pharma, first-year first semester, second-year first semester, third year's first semester and fourth year's fist semester examinations will be held from August 3, this year.
Likewise, the regular semester examinations for MBA and MCA, second year's second semester will commence from June 20. The first year 's second semester regular examinations and MCA supplementary examinations for the first year 's first semester, second year's first semester and the third year's fist semester will commence from August 3.
The JNTUH official said that the M.Tech and M Pharma's second semester regular and fist semester supplementary examinations will start from August 3. Examiantions for Pharma.D and Pharma D (PB) end semester tests for II, III, IV, and V year of Pharma D and II year's Pharma D(PB) regular and supplementary examinations will be held from July 16. The first-year regular and supplementary examinations of the same courses will commence from August 3, this year, she added. Further asking the colleges to take suitable measures for social distancing, sanitisation and other Covid preventive norms, it said that all the end-semester examinations will be held for a duration of two hours. However, the maximum marks of external exams remain the same.
The semester-end examinations have to be conducted only at respective parent colleges. "There will be no shuffling of the students from parent college to host college. However, for the colleges applied for progressive closure and the colleges where the number of students enrolled for the examinations is less in number than a specified threshold, the university said that one of the nearby colleges shall be identified for their students to write the semester examinations.
Regarding the pattern of examination, the students will be asked to answer five questions out of eight given, in a "Five out of eight question pattern". Also, there will be no compulsory section with short answer questions. The university asked that the questions shall be set and moderated in such a way that the students can comfortably answer each question within 20 minutes time. The JNTUH clarified that for the purpose of attendance in case detention, students should be given full attendance for the lockdown period. However, attendance should be calculated based on the days of the classwork done.
The colleges were asked to prepare the lists of the detained students based on the two parameters. Further, there will be no credit based detentions for the academic year 2020-21. This relaxation is applicable to all the regular students and those who were detained in previous academic years, due to the shortage of credits.
