Karimnagar: QR code system provides confidence among passengers
Confidence about safety levels among the people was increasing day-by-day with the perfect implementation of QR Code (Quick Response Code) in private vehicles like auto, cab and passenger vehicles, stated Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy.
Karimnagar: Confidence about safety levels among the people was increasing day-by-day with the perfect implementation of QR Code (Quick Response Code) in private vehicles like auto, cab and passenger vehicles, stated Police Commissioner VB Kamalasan Reddy.
In a statement released here on Tuesday, Kamalasan Reddy said the QR code system was introduced last year on January 31. A unique number, that is QR code, was allotted to every private vehicle that transports passengers. Everyone, either with a normal phone or smartphone, can use it. Those, who have smart phones, should download the QR scanner app and must scan the digital board and QR code allotted to the vehicle and can travel safe to their destinations without any worry, he explained.
'QR Code and Digital boards are linked to Hawk Eye and TSCOP Apps. By this, passengers' location can be easily traced out. The passengers can notice the QR code and digital boards stickers attached to the mirror of the vehicle and at the backside of the driver seat.' The Commissioner said that there are emergency calls, emergency texts, complaint and rating systems. By making an emergency call or text, it will reach the command control room which in turn conveys the message to the nearby police station.
Till now, around 10,000 private vehicles were allotted the QR code under the Commissionerate limits. As part of safe city programme, this kind of unique facilities were provided for the people who are travelling in private vehicles, he added.
Police Commissioner Kamalasan Reddy said to create awareness among the people about QR code, various programmes are being conducted by Kalajata artistes at main centres under the Karimnagar Police Commissioner limits and at places where a huge number of people are gathered. All sections of people are welcoming the initiation taken by the Karimnagar police in the part of their safety measures, he informed.
