District Collector R V Karnan appealed to the people to support free plastic free town drive.
Khammam: District Collector R V Karnan appealed to the people to support free plastic free town drive. Khammam Corporation conducted cycle rally as part of an awareness programme at Lakaram Tank Bund on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Karnan appealed to the officers and Non-Gazetted Organisations to conduct programmes on free plastic town and villages to raise awareness on the issue. He said everyone should know how to harmful plastic is for the environment. He said everyone should use cloth bags and paper bags and non-plastic items in their daily lives.
He also called upon people and asked them to strive to make Khammam plastic free district. Trainee Collector Adarsh Surabhi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Priyanka, Commissioner of Corporation J Srinivas Rao, Additional Commissioner Jagan, Corporator Neeraja, District Sports Officer Parandama Reddy, District Education Officer Madan Mohan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Venkat Rao, and NGO organisation representatives and others attended the programme.
