The forest officials and the policemen struggled for two hours and caught the Leopard which escaped from the trap injuring two officials in Rajapeta village of Marriguda Mandal in Nalgonda district.

While tracing the animal, the officials noticed the Leopard hiding under the jeep of the forest officials. All the officers moved inside the vehicle while some launched the efforts to catch the animal. The officials tranquillized the animal two times and moved into the cage after it fell unconscious. They shifted it to the Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the forest officials who suffered injuries were shifted to a hospital after first-aid.

Earlier in the morning, the officials found the Leopard being caught in a wire snare loop. The officials believed that the owner of the land where the leopard was caught is believed to have laid the trap for wild pigs. The big cat is said to have come from a nearby hillock.

Meanwhile, the people residing in the nearby tribal hamlet breathed a sigh of relief on learning the animal was caught.
