Mahbubnagar: All sections of people, including employees, students, political leaders, revenue officials and general public condemned the brutal torching of Abdullapurmet Tahsildar CH Vijaya Reddy, on Tuesday. Expressing their angst over the daylight killing of the Tahsildar, the Revenue, Agriculture and other government department officials in Nagarkurnool district staged a protest by taking out a huge rally and wore black badges as a mark of protest against the killing of a government employee who was discharging her duty.

The members of Revenue Officers Association from Nagarkurnool district have even decided to go to Hyderabad to take part in the final rites of Vijaya Reddy. "Never ever in the history of any State in this country have we heard or seen such an open daylight cold-blooded murder. This incident clearly shows there is no security to the lives of officials. We are demanding the government to immediately provide security and assure safety for the government employees who are in the service of the public," observed the agitating members.

In Kodangal mandal, the revenue staff along with leaders of opposition parties took out a huge rally along the main highway and later, garlanded the portrait of Vijaya Reddy and offered their tributes to the departed official.

As a mark of their protest against the heinous murder, the Mee Seva Association members in Tandur, Vikarabad and Kodangal mandals also condemned the death of the Tahsildar. They declared a three-day bandh of all Mee-Seva centres as a mark of mourning. "As a mark of protest and mourning for the departed official, the Mee-Seva centres will observe a temporary closure for three days," informed Narasimhulu, president of Mee-Seva Association of Tandur division.

The officials of Nagarkurnool Agriculture department staff also condemned the brutal murder of Vijaya Reddy and staged a protest by wearing black badges. Overall, the protesting employees demanded the State government to take steps for the safety and security of government officials who are always in the service of the people and also take stringent action against those involved the murder of the Tahsildar.
