Mission Naari programme to fight anaemia launched in Khammam
Khammam: District Collector RV Karnan has stated that Asha workers were rendering best services to the people.
The Collector, speaking at the Mission Naari programme, Naa Arogyam Anaemia Rahitham, at the Bhaktha Ramdasu Kalaskhetram in Khammam on Friday, called upon the Asha workers to create awareness among people, especially women, about having an iron-rich diet to prevent anaemia.
He also added that due to efforts of Asha workers, the spread of dengue has been controlled in the district.
He directed the health officers and Asha workers to conduct blood tests in villages under the Mission Nari programme and provide necessary medicines and diet suggestions to those suffering from anaemia. The Collector added that testing kits were already distributed to the trained Asha workers for conducting the tests.
District Deputy Medical Officer Dr Malathi explained the programme in detail with a powerpoint presentation to the Asha workers attending the programme.
Trainee Collector Adarsh Surabhi, Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Priyanka, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Kalavathi Bai, Project Officer of the National Arogya Mission Nilohana, District Malaria Officer Saidulu, Dr Koti Ratnam, doctors, Asha workers and ANMs attended the programme.
