MLC elections: KCR plays captain's role
Closely monitoring ground reports of TRS candidates' prospects
Hyderabad: With just three days left to the election to two MLC Seats from Hyderabad- Rangareddy- Mahbubnagar and Khammam- Warangal- Nalgonda graduates constituency, campaign has reached a new peak.
TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao, who wants to contain the surge of BJP during this election, is reaching out to all party legislators, ZP chairpersons and other leaders to review the poll prospects of the candidates and assess their winning prospects.
The Chief Minister is taking feedback on the party's campaign strategy and the challenges being faced by them at ground level. KCR had laid special focus on Khammam and Warangal districts where the leaders were divided into groups.
The party chief was trying his best to see that Khammam leaders, Transport Minister P Ajay and former minister T Nageswara Rao and former MP P Srinivasa Reddy bury their hatchet and work for the victory of the party candidate Palla Rajeshwar Reddy.
KCR is analysing the voting pattern in the previous elections, caste equations, influence of opposition parties' on voters and the major challenges before TRS to convince the voters.
The party in-charges have been regularly updating KCR about political trends in each Assembly segment. Besides, the TRS president was making extra efforts to understand the ground reality.
The ruling party already roped in a noted private survey agency to study the political developments.
Sources said that KCR was taking special interest in monitoring the campaign and the strategies being adopted by party to ensure the victory of Surabhi Vani Devi in old Mahbubnagar district where the BJP was having a stronghold.
Leaders said that the TRS was confident that the voters of Ranga Reddy and Hyderabad districts would support them and the only hurdle before the TRS is to counter BJP in Mahbubnagar district where most of the voters are active members of ABVP – the student wing of the BJP.
KCR was in regular touch with ministers and MLAs of Mahbubnagar district and was giving necessary tips to them to counter the BJP.
