MMTS driver still critical
The condition of the loco pilot Chandrashekar, who remained crushed in cabin of the MMTS train which collided with another passenger train at Kacheguda, continues to be critical on Tuesday.
Hyderabad: The condition of the loco pilot Chandrashekar, who remained crushed in cabin of the MMTS train which collided with another passenger train at Kacheguda, continues to be critical on Tuesday.
According to Dr Sushma Rani, medical superintendent of CARE Hospitals, Nampally, Chandrashekar's health condition was still causing concern. He suffered from cardiac arrest while he was being rushed to CARE Hospitals, Nampally.
The patient was revived using cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). He was intubated on arrival and admitted under the team of critical care department. At present he is on ventilator support with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy.)
Due to the impact of the accident, "The loco pilot suffered from fractures in ribs, haemorrhagic shock. Internal bleeding is also suspected as there was blood in the urine. Blood supply to lower limbs had decreased," Dr Rani said.
Doctors from multiple specialities, including nephrologists, vascular and orthopaedic surgeons and others were constantly monitoring his condition.
The doctors suspect that there has been some damage to his kidneys. She said they may have to perform a few more surgeries but a decision about it will be taken only after his condition stabilises.
