Nagarjunasagar: The Nagarjunasagar project is brimming with water. Even though flood water from upstream has decreased, the rainwater in the catchment area of Sagar project is flowing towards the reservoir in the form of streams. In view of this, the officials of Nagarjunasagar Project have been releasing the extra water to downstream by lifting the two crest gates of the project dam by five feet.

The present level of Sagar reservoir is 589.90 feet against the Full Tank Level of 590 feet. As per official sources, 85,378 cusecs of water has been reaching the project and about 56,000 cusecs of water is being released downstream.
