Vemulapally (Nalgonda): As many as eight passengers were hurt when the bus of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation of Piduguralla depot of Guntur district overturned in the agriculture fields after hitting a roadside electric pole on Narketpally-Addanki highway near Shettypalem village of Vemulapally mandal in the district on Tuesday.

According to sources, the driver of the APSRTC bus bound to Hyderabad from Piduguralla lost control over the bus and hit an electric pole which led to overturning of the bus in agriculture fields in Shettypalem village. In this road mishap, all the eight passengers in the bus suffered minor injuries and were lucky to have escaped a grave danger as the there was no power supply to electric pole which was knocked by the bus at the time of the accident.

After receiving information, the local police rushed to the spot and took part in the rescue operations. Based on the complaint of injured passengers, the Vemulapally police registered a case and took up the investigation.

Meanwhile, Sakinala Anjaiah of Shettypalem village was washed away after he accidentally fell into Sagar left canal at Vemulapally. Anjaiah got into the canal to wash his hands and legs. As per the sources, Anjaiah does know how to swim. Search is on to trace him.
