Nizamabad: Condemning the government's indifferent attitude towards RTC staff strike, CPM activists staged a demonstration from Government Hospital to bus stand and staged a dharna in front of the bus stand here on Wednesday. They raised slogans against the government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

CPM district secretary A Ramesh Babu criticised KCR that he had sacked RTC workers, who served strike notice, without discussing their demands, which shows his dictatorial attitude. He condemned the CM's act and demanded that the government should hold talks with workers unions immediately and should merge the RTC with the government as per its promise before the elections; pay revision; and not to privatise the RTC. He also criticised the CM's order that the workers should not join any trade unions and said that is totally against democracy.

The police arrested the party activists and shifted them to Mopal police station. The arrested activists include CPM district secretary A Ramesh Babu, district leader Noorjahan, city secretary M Govardhan, city committee members D Krishna, K Ramulu, Abhilash, Navipet mandal secretary M Srinivas, Satish, Vijaya and others. SFI leaders P Suri, Anil, and Maruthi and AIDWA leaders Anasuya, Zareen, Masood and others participated in the dharna.
