Ranga Reddy: District Collector Lokesh Kumar on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to take steps to wind up 'Balasadans' which are being run without a valid licence.

The Collector was presiding over the district-level meeting on 'Operation Muskaan' involving various departments held here on Tuesday. Representatives of the Education, Health, Police, Revenue, Labour, Child Welfare departments and NGOs participated in the meeting.

'Operation Muskaan' aims to rescue and rehabilitate children who run away from their homes, child labour and bonded labour and those who need protection.

In his address, the Collector said that steps have been taken to ensure that the children rescued under the 'Operation Muskaan' were handed over to their parents. He said action as per the law, would be taken against those organizations which employed children.

In the case of rescued children who have been employed as bonded labourers, facilities would be provided to them as required with regard to health and education. Those children from other States found missing would be sent back to their native places.

Among those present were Sakkubai, District Welfare Officer, Padmavati, CWC chairperson, Nageshwara Rao, Venkateswarlu, Vijaya Devi, Sukheshini, Satish Babu and District Child Welfare Officer.
