One killed, five hurt as cylinder explodes
A worker was killed and five others were severely injured in an explosion at the Mahendra CIE on the Thursday. The injured were immediately shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment.
Zaheerabad: A worker was killed and five others were severely injured in an explosion at the Mahendra CIE on the Thursday. The injured were immediately shifted to Hyderabad for better treatment. Some of them are stated to be in a critical condition.
Fire engines rushed to the spot and brought the flames under control. It is learnt that the mishap was due to the blast of gas cylinder used for welding works in the plant.
The roof of the shed was shattered due to the intensity of the blast. The number of workers were present at the time of the incident is not confirmed as the power supply disrupted.
Labour unions held discussions with the management for the compensation to the kin of victim. Management agreed to pay Rs 40 lakh and appointment for one of the family members. CITU leaders Ramchander, Mahipal, Naresh Goud, leaders of the unions, victim's family members and representatives of the company were present during the discussion.
