Hyderabad: Police seized Rs 4.92 crore unaccounted money and arrested six persons in this connection during the past two days in eight police station limits.

According to Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, the sleuths of Task Force belonging to West, North and Central Zones along with the local police arrested six persons in the limits of Panjagutta, Malakpet and Banjara Hills police station limits for carrying illegal money.

On Saturday, the West Zone Task Force team along with the local police conducted a raid at anapartment inSomajiguda and apprehended two persons M Satwik Reddyand Sourav Goyal, bothbusinessmen from Rajendra Nagar, having an amount of Rs 26.19 lakh.

On enquiry, they did not provide any valid documents pertaining to the cash. Hence police seized the cash and handed over the same to SHO, Panjaguttapolice station for further investigation.

Similarly, on credible information, the North Zone Task Force team along with the local police intercepted one car at Moosarambagh and apprehended two persons T Kasinath Reddy, a businessman at Chitra Layout in LB Nagar and Bhukya Ravi, acar driver at Mansurabad who were carryingillegal Rs 34.30 lakh cash.

On enquiry they disclosed that the amount was allegedly being transported to Malkajgiri for distributionto the booth-level committee members and bribe voters in the limits of Malkajgiri MP constituency.

Hence police seized the cash and handed over to the SHO, Malakpetpolice station for further investigation.

On Sunday, the West Zone Task Force team along with local police intercepted one car near Star Super Market, Road No.14 in Banjara Hills and apprehended one Mallareddy Srinivas, aprivate employee from Kalyan Nagar in SR Nagar, who was transportingRs 1 crore illegally.

On enquiry when he did not provided any valid documents pertaining to the cash, police seized the cash and car and handed them over to the Income Tax Departmentfor further investigation.

The Central Zone Task Force team along with the local police intercepted one car near Basavatarakam Cancer Hospital at Road No10 in Banjara Hills and apprehended one person B Seenaiah,adriver from MLA Colony, who was carrying illegal Rs 1 crore.

On enquiry he disclosed that on the instructions of one Jayaveer Reddy the cash was being transported to Nalgonda Parliamentaryconstituency to bribe voters.

The seizedcash and carwere handed over to SHO, Banjara Hills police Station, for further action.

In addition,police seized the huge quantity of unaccounted money during vehicle checking in different police station limits,includingPanjagutta (Rs 26 lakh), Osmania University police station (Rs 47.75 lakh ), Golconda (Rs 2 lakh ), SR Nagar ( Rs 3.65 lakh ), Jubilee Hills ( Rs 1.49 crore) and in Tappachabutra police station limits Rs(4 lakh), altogether a total of Rs 4.92 crore cash was seized by the city

police.
