Pulichintala gates lifted, 6.16 lakh cusecs released

The Irrigation department officials lifted 14 gates of Pulichintala project located in Chintalapalem mandal in Surypaet district and released 6.16 lakh cusecs of water downstream as it was getting inflows of 5.46 lakh cusecs from Nagarjunasagar project.
Suryapet: The Irrigation department officials lifted 14 gates of Pulichintala project located in Chintalapalem mandal in Surypaet district and released 6.16 lakh cusecs of water downstream as it was getting inflows of 5.46 lakh cusecs from Nagarjunasagar project. The Full Tank Capacity of Pulichintala project is 45 tmcft, whereas present water level in the tank is 39.4 tmcft.
Meanwhile, in order to avoid inconvenience to devotees, Srilaxmi Narasimha Swamy temple of Mattapally in Matampally mandal in the district was shut down as the backwaters of Pulichintala project entered the temple premises on the day.
