Yadadri-Bhongir/Nalgonda: A toddy topper died after a tree broke and fell on him. He was reportedly climbing the tree when it broke due to impact of strong winds at Mallapur village of Yadadgirigutta mandal in the district.

The deceased was identified as S Chandraiah (55). Another person, Erukala Rajaiah, who was injured in this incident was shifted to hospital for treatment.

After receiving information, Yadagirigutta police rushed to the spot and shifted the body of Chandraiah to area hospital in Bhongir for post-mortem.

Meanwhile, several electric poles and trees were uprooted at Mallapuram, Rallajangam and Datharpalli villages in Yadagirigutta mandal.

Power supply in Bibingar was stalled for hours together due to rains with gales.

So also, a poultry farm of farmer Mattipally Shankar collapsed due to rains and strong winds at Chelmada village of Munugodu mandal in Nalgonda district. In this incident, as many as 10,000 birds died on the spot causing a loss of Rs 17 lakh.
