RGI Airport receives hoax bomb threat


The officials of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad on Tuesday received a bomb threatening call via email at 2:31 pm from [email protected] [email protected].
Hyderabad: The officials of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA), Shamshabad on Tuesday received a bomb threatening call via email at 2:31 pm from [email protected] [email protected].
The message received was – "I want to blast bomb in airport tomorrow". However, Shamshabad DCP said a complaint has been lodged by taking the message seriously and searches were intensified.
Airport officials said, the telephonic call about the information was received to Security Operation Control Center (SOCC) at around 6:21 pm from Airport Operations Control Center (AOCC).
Immediately the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was convened which was attended by the officials of CISF, Telangana Police, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (RD/BCAS), GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) management, terminal manager.
After the detailed discussion the mail was declared as non specific.
