Single family, three posts

Mancherial: Members of the same family of Congress party are holding key posts in the two districts – Komaram Bheem-Asifabad and Mancherial – in the eastern part of joint Adilabad district.
Former MLC Kokkirala Premsagar Rao is continuing as AICC member and his wife K Surekha was appointed as Mancherial DCC president while his brother K Vishwa Prasad Rao was appointed as Asifabad DCC president.
During the stiff competition in seat sharing in Assembly elections with Gaddam Aravinda Reddy from Mancherial and Boda Janardhan Reddy from Chennur, Mancherial Assembly seat was given to K Premsagar Rao's wife K Surekha.
Former MLA Aravinda Reddy was disappointed over this and shifted his loyalty to the ruling TRS, and Janardhan Reddy has been staying away from the Congress after the seat sharing.
Coming to Premsagar Rao's brother Kokkirala Vishwa Prasad Rao, after the existing DCC president and Asifabad MLA Atram Sakku shifted his loyalty to the ruling TRS, there are no other main leaders in this region, Party high command has given Asifabad District Congress Committee (DCC) president post to Vishwa Prasad Rao. Vishwa Prasad earlier worked as party treasurer.
Putting aside party senior leaders in Adilabad district, Premsagar Rao has taken up the party power in his hands and running it in his own style. In the December Assembly elections, Rao had succeeded in reserving tickets to his followers. But Atram Sakku was the only one out of the 10 Assembly segments, who won the elections from Asifabad constituency.
This means that the Congress had vested all the key posts in two districts to the members of a single family.
