Students told to make use of facilities in government schools, colleges in Mahbubnagar

Mahbubnagar: Excise Minister Srinivas Goud distributed free books to Intermediate students at Government Junior College and Vocational College in Mahbubnagar district on Friday.

While taking part in the programmes, Srinivas Goud said that the State government was taking all necessary steps to improve the quality of education in government schools and colleges in the State. As part of the initiative to promote free education, the government has been providing free books to all Intermediate students studying in government junior colleges in the district.

"Earlier, when we studied in the schools and colleges, we were not given free books. But today, the government with an aim to help the poor students, is distributing free books, bags and uniforms in all schools and colleges. The Students must make use of them and should study well and pass out with good marks," said Srinivas Goud, while addressing the students.

Informing the students that he too studied in the same college, the Minister spent some time in the classroom where he once studied and recalled his memories.

Later, the Minister took part in the plantation drive on the college premises.

Councillor Krishna Mohan, District Library chairman Rajeshwar Goud, Zilla Parishad Territorial Council member Vijaya Nirmala, Government Junior College Principal Urmila and students attended the programme.
