Commemorating 63rd death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, president of Mala Mahanadu G Chennaiah garlanded the Ambedkar statue here and paid tributes on Friday.
Tank Bund: Commemorating 63rd death anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, president of Mala Mahanadu G Chennaiah garlanded the Ambedkar statue here and paid tributes on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, Chennaiah said that Dr Ambedkar had played instrumental role in bringing social revolution in India. As a legal expert, politician and economist, Dr Ambedkar fought for the rights of downtrodden sections and women, he said.
Chennaiah urged union and state governments to create a secure system for the protection of women. He said that there is need to impose severe punishments to prevent atrocities against women.
Mala Mahanadu state working president Janga Srinivas, general secretary V Bhaskar, general secretary of Mala Mahanadu women's division Geetanjali, youth leader G Ramesh, Perumandla Ashok Rao, Vishnuvardhan, Supriya, Rambabu and others paid tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
