TDP to contest Huzurnagar bypoll
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday decided to fight the byelection to Huzurnagar Assembly constituency which is scheduled to be held on October 21.
Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Saturday decided to fight the byelection to Huzurnagar Assembly constituency which is scheduled to be held on October 21.
Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu took the decision to field the candidate after holding a meeting with his party leaders here. Party State unit President L Ramana will announce the candidate on Sunday.
Leaders said that on the insistence of local leaders, Naidu finalised that the party will go alone in byelections as TDP snapped ties with Congress after receiving severe drubbing in the Assembly elections in 2018.
The party stayed away from contesting Lok Sabha elections held in May this year.
Naidu told the party leaders to strive hard for the revival of the TDP in Telangana.
