CM Revanth Reddy Launches New Welfare Programs on Republic Day in Telangana

coinciding with Republic Day celebrations, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched four major welfare schemes aimed at uplifting the people of Telangana.
Hyderabad: On January 26, coinciding with Republic Day celebrations, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched four major welfare schemes aimed at uplifting the people of Telangana. These programs include Rythu Bharosa, Rythu Aathmiya Bharosa, Indiramma Houses, and the distribution of new ration cards. The launch took place in the Kodangal Legislative Assembly constituency.
As banks were closed on Republic Day, the Chief Minister announced that funds under the Rythu Bharosa scheme would be deposited into farmers' accounts, with Rs 6,000 per acre, starting after midnight.
The welfare initiatives were officially inaugurated in the village of Chandravanch, located in the Kosgi Mandal of Narayanpet district. During the ceremony, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented documents to selected beneficiaries, marking the formal rollout of these schemes. He emphasized that all eligible beneficiaries in the state would receive the benefits of these programs.
The Chief Minister remarked that public governance is about bringing the government closer to the people. He explained that the role of officials is to resolve people's issues by directly engaging with them in their villages. As part of this approach, government representatives have been dispatched to rural areas, where they will gather data and address the needs of the people.
"Officials are here to understand your issues. However, some are trying to create confusion. Please provide them with full details. The responsibility of implementing these welfare schemes lies with the people's government," he added.
Further, the Chief Minister assured that by March 31, the state would sanction 4,50,000 Indiramma Houses across every constituency in Telangana, with an allocation of 22,500 crore rupees for this initiative. Each constituency will receive 3,500 houses under this program.
The Chief Minister also reiterated several ongoing welfare schemes, such as loan waivers, job creation for the unemployed, free RTC travel for women, subsidized gas cylinders, and free electricity up to 200 units for poor households. He affirmed that these measures were just the beginning, with further initiatives planned for marginalized communities.
"We have decided to provide Rs 12,000 per acre to farmers annually under the Rythu Bharosa scheme, totaling 20,000 crore rupees each year. Additionally, we will provide Rs 12,000 annually to Dalits, Tribals, and backward classes under the Indiramma Aathmiya Bharosa program. This will benefit approximately 10 lakh families," he said.
For the first time in many years, officials are regularly visiting villages to distribute ration cards and gather data for welfare schemes. This new model of governance ensures that public representatives are directly engaged with the communities they serve.
The launch event was attended by several public representatives, Telangana's Chief Secretary, and other senior officials. These new welfare initiatives are expected to create a significant impact, improving the lives of the state's marginalized communities.
