TS-iPASS fetched 1.09 lakh crore investments, says KTR
Industries and Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday said the State received Rs 1.09 lakh crore investments in the past five years through the TS i-PASS.
Hyderabad: Industries and Information Technology Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday said the State received Rs 1.09 lakh crore investments in the past five years through the TS i-PASS.
Taking part in the discussions on demands of his departments in the Assembly, the Minister said that through i-PASS 8,294 industries have been established units in the State and they have provided employment to 12.71 lakh persons.
He said they include world renowned companies like General Electricals, Boeing, Google, Microsoft, Apache, Rafale, Facebook, and others. He said the big industries in the country like Adani, SMTC, and others have also established their units in Hyderabad.
The Minister said that world class stents are being manufactured in Hyderabad. He said they have established about 59 Industrial Parks in the State in an area of 49,000 acres.
The State was in the top in rankings given by the Centre and the World Bank in Ease of Doing Business. He said out of the 10,993 industries which have applied through the TS i-PASS to establish industries in the State, 8,294 have started production, 701 are in the advanced State and 1,252 are in the initial stage.
The Minister said the State surpassed Bengaluru in IT exports as the growth of software exports annual growth rate was 17 per cent whereas the growth rate of Bengaluru was at seven per cent per annum.
He informed that the IT exports which were Rs 57,000 crore in 2014-15 have been doubled in the past five years and the worth of exports was Rs 1.69 lakh crore. He informed that Hyderabad would absorb 12 million square feet of office space and this would also relegate Bengaluru to next place.
He said that the State government established industrial health clinics to bail out the small and medium industries which are prone to go sick. He said the sick industries have been helped with Techno Viability Evaluation.
He said efforts have been made to reopen the Rayons and Sirpur Paper Mill. He charged that during the period of Congress government no new industrial park was established in Telangana. He said that 7,500 acres have been acquired to establish pharma city in the outskirts of Hyderabad.
A medical devises manufacturing industry has been established in Sultanpur. He informed that 2,900 acres have been acquired for NIMZ at Zaheerabad. He said that the State would soon see four revolutions like Green, Blue, Pink and White Revolutions.
He informed that food processing clusters would be established in the State in 21 towns. Autonagars would come up in the suburban areas of Hyderabad.He informed that aerospace industries would come up at four areas and electronics manufacturing clusters would be established. He informed that industries which have been polluting the atmosphere have been shifted out of Hyderabad.
