Demand State govt to emulate AP govt which mulls merger of APSRTC with govt soon

Hyderabad: With Andhra Pradesh government deciding to study the process for merger of APSRTC with the government, the workers' unions of TSRTC in theState demanded the Telangana government to emulate the same.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had promised to take up merger of APSRTC with the government. As per the promise, the merger issue was listed as third topic of discussion in the Cabinet meeting, which would be held on June 10.

Welcoming this move, the workers unions in the State are now demanding the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to fulfil the promise of merging the corporation with the government.

TSRTC Telangana Jathiya Mazdoor Union general secretary K HanumanthuMudiraj welcomed the decision of the APChief Minister and said that YS Jagan would be in the hearts of the RTC workers.

He demanded the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to fulfil the promise made to the RTC workers. He claimed that CM KCR had promised to provide salaries to the RTC workers on par with government employees.

TSRTC workers participated in the Telangana agitation. Though Telangana was achieved, the Chief Minister did not keep his promise, said Hanumanthu.

The Employees Union general secretary K Raji Reddy said that the Telangana government should merge the TSRTC with the government.
