Khammam: Telangana Rashtra Samithi Floor Leader in Lok Sabha and Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao expressed his displeasure over the union budget. On Tuesday, the MP camp office released a press note with regard to Nama's speech in the Lok Sabha on the day.

In his 12-minute speech, Nama expressed his unhappiness over the Centre not allocating any funds for the flagship projects of the State Mission Bhagiratha, Mission Kakatiya and irrigation project Kaleshwaram that supply safe drinking water to every household in the State.

He said the 2019-20 budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was pro-rich and a burden on the poor. He said increase of duty on gold, petrol and diesel would affect the common man.

"We were hoping that a developing city like Hyderabad would get something. But that didn't happen," he said, adding the peoples' hope on reduction of income tax was also watered down.
