Pargi: Distressed over not getting the appointment, a visually challenged candidate threatened to end his life in front of Pragati Bhavan. Ramakrishna, native of Pothireddypalli village of Vikarabad district said that he was selected in merit in the category of the disabled in teacher's recruitment. "I scored well in TET and DSC but my name was not found in the final list," he lamented.

When he enquired with the TSPSC, they said that he was not eligible in the visually challenged category, as Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital certified him that his disability standards do not meet the stipulated rules. He went to the hospital to check the facts. The hospital authorities denied that they did not issue any certificate of that sort, Ramakrishna said. He also said the staff at the hospital demanded a bribe of Rs 70,000 to issue a new certificate. "My father is also blind. We sold our assets to complete my education. If I don't get employment, the only way left for me is suicide," he said with grief.
