Warangal: It's high time that the State government announce the new Pay Revision Commission (PRC), All India Universities Employees Confederation (AIUEC) Vice-President Dr Pulla Srinivas said.

Speaking at Kakatiya University (KU) Technical Association meeting here on Monday, he urged the State government to come up with good news in the New Year. "The employees have been waiting eagerly for the PRC and the pending dearness allowance (DA)," he said. Even though the outbreak of coronavirus is rampant, the employees in the State service have discharged their duties competently, Dr Srinivas said.

It's also time for the government to announce regular Vice-Chancellors to all the universities, besides filling teaching and non-teaching vacancies, he said, expressing concern over the standards of higher education. This apart, there is a huge inactivity in the varsities due to lack of funds, he added. As a result, the education standards in the varsities have come down drastically, he said, appealing to the government to look into the issues.

Referring to the temporary employees working with the KU, Dr Srinivas urged the government to regularise them. Over the years, the temporary employees have been struggling with inadequate salaries, he pointed out. He also urged the government to repeal the new pension scheme and continue the old pension scheme. He stressed the need for focusing on unemployed youth.

KU Technical Association Union general secretary N Nandaiah, Mettu Ravi, Dr Sangala Ephraim Raj, S Balaji, Y Ravi Kumar, K Chiranjeevi, S Rajamouli, Premsagar, M Samson, Sobhan Kumar and Srinu were among others present.
