Blames cops for failing to trace out her husband

Jangaon: Accusing the police of being nonresponsive towards tracing out her husband, who went missing three weeks ago, a 23-year-old woman staged a protest along with her family members in front of the police station here on Monday. It's learnt that 27-year-old K Chaitanya's husband Anil, who works with a cool drink shop near bus station, had left home on November 17 and didn't return. After failing to locate his whereabouts, Chaitanya lodged a complaint with the police. Both Anil and Chaitanya belong to Jangaon town.

Speaking to media persons, Chaitanya said that there was no response from the police even though her husband went missing since November 17. "Though I gave the mobile number of my husband, the police failed to trace out him," she said, expressing her anguish over the police.

According to the police, they had formed teams to find the whereabouts of Anil. When the search was on for Anil based on his mobile phone signal, the complainant herself informed her husband that police would trace out him. Since then Anil's phone was switched off. Moreover, the complainant was blaming the police.

However, the search is on for Anil, the police said.
