Women's organizations Joint Action Committee welcomed the Telangana Government's decision for constituting a High Level Committee (HLC) to examine the issues and problems faced by women in the Television and Film Industries. Addressing a press conference in Hyderabad, the representatives of JAC, demanded that the High Level Committee should complete its consultations and bring out a Integrated report with in a period of six months.

They emphasized that the committee should look into all the issues raised by the artists, the nature of work place in the film industry, the exploitation that occurs even before a person enters the film industry, devise a method of recognizing the dialogue artists. They also demanded a form a regulatory framework of conduct for all film related activities including talent scouting, casting and shooting. They further demanded the HLC to hold wide spread consultations with all and devise ways of protecting women survivors against backlash and loss of opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Actress Sri Reddy demanded that the High Level Committee first of all should come forward before public by holding a press conference and disclose their agenda. Then only the victims can come out to tell their grievances to them. She said that movie makers opting outdoor shootings in foreign countries just for harassing the women artists.
