Visakhapatnam: The fifth edition of 'Vizag Going Pink' witnessed an overwhelming participation of women in the city on Sunday. Focusing on the theme 'fit women for fit families,', the run organised to promote breast cancer awareness hosted under the banner 'Pinkathon,' witnessed about 3,000 women from different categories.

Those who participated in the run said that physical activity plays an imperative part in making women stronger physically as well as emotionally. The winners who completed their targets walked away with prizes.

The first edition of Vizag Going Pink was held in 2015, an initiative taken by the founder of Pinkathon Milind Soman. The idea of the fitness initiative is to encourage women to follow a healthy lifestyle and consider exercise an integral part of their daily routine.

The run was flagged off by Commissioner of Police R K Meena. Vice-president of HCG Hospital Anjali Ajay Kumar, managing director of Patra Lakshmi Mukkavalli, among others participated.
