All set for village secretariat exam today in Tirupati
The stage is set for the successful conduct of the written test for the village secretariat posts in Chittoor district where the test will be held from September 1 to 8.
Tirupati: The stage is set for the successful conduct of the written test for the village secretariat posts in Chittoor district where the test will be held from September 1 to 8.
As many as 510 officers including 60 as district special officers and 450 as (exam) centre special officers have been appointed for the smooth conduct of the written test.
A total of 1,88,639 candidates appearing for the exam which will be held in morning 10 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. On the first day i.e. September 1, the examination will be held in 380 centres districtwide including 41 mandal headquarters and municipal towns while in the remaining days i.e. 3,4,6,7 and 8 the test will be conducted only in the 67 centres in Tirupati.
Maximum number of candidates are appearing for the exam on the first day on September 1 including 1,07,715 candidates for morning examination and 28,194 in the afternoon examination.
District Collector Dr Narayana Bharath Gupta held series of meetings with district, municipal and mandal officials readying the administration for the transparent conduct of the village secretariat exam in the district. A tollfree number 1902 and a control room also set up for assistance to the officials involved in the examination and also guidance to the candidates appearing for the exam.
While APSRTC deployed 220 buses additionally including 77 in Tirupati division and 143 in Chittoor division for the convenience of the rural candidates appearing for the examination and instructions were also issued to the driver and conductor of super luxury and express bus services to stop the buses in all stages to facilitate the candidates from villages, according to Regional Manager T Chengal Reddy, who said a plan also drawn for operation of additional bus services during the examination including in Tirupati where special buses will be operated from main bus stand and railway station to the exam centres.
Senior official will be put up at all important centres for smooth operation of the bus services for the exam. In a release District Collector, he made it clear that there is no exemption to any of the officials deputed for the conduct of the examination and stern action will be taken against those who failed to turn up for the duty.
The candidates are not allowed to carry cell phones, headphones or any other electronic gadgets and have to present in the centre 30 minutes before the exam, Collector said.
