Anantapur: District Collector Gandham Chandrudu held a review meeting here on Friday on 'Mana Badi Nadu-Nedu' scheme under which all government schools will get a face lift and a corporate look both inside and outside.
The Collector took up initiative to improve quality of education and to boost infrastructure and amenities in class rooms, immediately after his taking charge about six months ago.
He reviewed in detail on the minor and major works execution by the Parents Committees including on purchase of building materiel. He said that head-masters and engineers must ensure that all works are grounded and completed before the end of July. DEO Samuel informed the Collector that 1,208 schools have already started works and are progressing.
The Collector instructed all those who purchased materiel to upload bills in support of the expenditure incurred. Joint Collector Nishanth Kumar was also present.
