Anantapur: Kadapala Sankar, a sports coach, who hails from Agraharam village in Dharmavaram mandal, who achieved an unique feat of climbing the world's second largest snow mountain 'Kili Manjaro' in Tanzania in South African continent is now sending his daughter Kadapala Ritwika Sree to climb the world's second highest mountain in the African continent.
Nine-year-old Ritwika, a student of the city-based Vincent De Paul, Catholic Mission School is all set to climb the second tallest mountain in Tanzania on January 16 in the presence of his father and Tanzanian officials. She will be climbing the second highest mountain in the world Kili Manjaro.
Speaking to The Hans India, Ritwika said that she is confident of repeating the same feat which her father achieved. She always dreamt of an adventurous life and practiced trekking and rock climbing. Ritwika received training in Manali in Rock Climbing Academy and also in Rock Climbing School in Bhuvanagiri district in Telangana state. Kadapala Sankar is presently a sports coach in Rural Development Trust in the district. He is also a good cricketer, badminton and hand ball player and is coaching scores of students and children in multiple sport forms. He is also a Space Club of India member.
District Collector Gandham Chandrudu wished Ritwika success in her mission and hoped many would emulate her adventure spirit.
