Anantapur: Convener of 100 TMC Sadhana Samithi G Ramanjaneyulu, Dr M Suresh Babu, state president of Praja Science Vedika and other organisations have two hunger relief camps to migrant labourers here on Sunday.

In the wake of nation wide lockdown, tea, water and food were provided to migrant workers and homeless people at the camps free of cost. The camps are being organised adjacent to national highway here from May 4.

About 250 people working in the front line have been served the food items. Hunger relief camps were being organised since May 4 to help migrant labourers. People from far off places including Ghorakhpur, Jhansi, Itarsi, Meerut, Kanpur and Ranchi were walking by foot.

Biscuits, tea, breakfast, lunch and dinner were being provided to migrant labourers travelling on the national highway. Truck drivers and other donors donated small amounts ranging from Rs,500 to 800 and encouraged us to continue this activity.

Everyday the organisations are feeding about 250 stranded migrants, say the relief camp organisers.
