Tirupati: BJP OBC Morcha national President K Lakshman lambasted the recent attacks on Hindu temples in the state with which the sentiments of crores of Hindus have hurt. Addressing the media here on Monday, he said the government itself has agreed that 26 temples were attacked by miscreants so far whereas BJP found that idols and other properties of more than 120 temples got damaged.
Though Ramatheertham is a sacred people for the people in the state, they didn't leave that one also. It is a threat to the Hindu community. If the government is unable to prevent the attacks, it can abolish the endowments department so that the Hindu community can safeguard the temples and other properties, he stated.
He added soon after taking charge as OBC Morcha president, he has been visiting various districts to strengthen the organisation at grassroots level by taking up the schemes and activities of Narendra Modi government towards the welfare and upliftment of BC communities. A meeting was also held with elite people from these BC communities and downtrodden sections earlier in the day to muster their support for the BJP-Jana Sena candidate in the ensuing Tirupati Lok Sabha byelections.
Lakshman opined that if YSRCP candidate wins this election there will not be any change whereas the victory of BJP – Jana Sena candidate may bring in more schemes and funds from the Centre to the state. Though this state did not give seats or votes for BJP, the Prime Minister was not showing any discrepancy on it and flooding the state with more funds and projects.
Listing out all the projects and funds given to AP, he said that the Central government has been giving crores of rupees to Polavaram project. It had given Rs 2,500 crore for capital Amaravati and provided another Rs 7,500 crores as loan from HUDCO. He also mentioned the Visakhapatnam-Chennai industrial corridor, special railway zone, 10 Central educational institutions, Sagaramala project among other things.
BJP state spokespersons G Bhanu Prakash Reddy, Samanchi Srinivas, OBC Morcha state president N Venkata Sivanarayana and other leaders were present.
