Amaravati: The state Cabinet will meet on Thursday morning to discuss various issues including the bills to be placed in the Assembly session scheduled to start on June 16. This meeting assumes significance coming as it does in the wake of several setbacks to the government in courts on a range of issues.

Besides decisions of courts, the Cabinet is expected to discuss and approve agenda for Assembly Budget session from June 16 onwards.

Sources said a proposal from the home department to recruit at least 110 employees for four newly-establishing forensic laboratories will also be on the agenda of the Cabinet meet. These laboratories will help the police department in establishing facts in criminal cases in order to punish the guilty. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has already given formal approval for these posts and now home minister Mekathoti Sucharitha is going to put the file for Cabinet ratification.

On the other hand, the Cabinet may give its nod for the already incurred expenditure for fighting the Covid-19 pandemic in the state in the last couple of months. The bills to be introduced in the ensuing Assembly to be placed in the cabinet, informed the employees in the Secretariat.
