Machilipatnam: Transport Minister Perni Venkata Ramaiah (Nani) said that the state government has decided to set up help desks in all police stations in the State. He said that the objective of setting up help desks is to help the people visiting the police stations to lodge complaints. He said that the help desks will dispel the misconceptions among the people on the police stations and will enhance the confidence on the government.

Perni Nani along with the Krishna district superintendent of police inaugurated the help desk and women waiting room at the Robertson police station in Machilipatnam on Wednesday. Incidentally, it is the first help desk in Krishna district.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that special training has been imparted to the staff working in the help desk on how to deal with the people and how to receive the complaints and take to the notice of the police officers.

Krishna district superintendent of police M Ravindranath Babu thanked the donors, who donated funds for setting up help desk in Robertson police station. He said the objective of setting up help desk is to create friendly atmosphere in the police station.

Special Branch DSP Dharmendra, Bandar DSP Mahaboob Basha, CCS DSP Murali Krishna, SC/ST Cell DSP Umamaheswara Rao and other officials were present on the occasion.
