APSRTC Ongole reduces goods transport charges

Ongole: APSRTC Ongole regional manager G Vijaya Geetha announced that the corporation has reduced the charges of depot goods transport for bulk cargo booked through the counters or through the agents, to 50 percent.

She advised the traders in the district to take advantage of the reduced charges and save more money.

She announced that they will charge the cargo of 0.5 ton and more in weight for 200 kms, just Rs 50 inclusive of GST and toll fees per km, instead of Rs 100, and the price will decrease by Re 1, for every 100 kms in distance.

She explained that the price will be Rs 49 per km from 201 to 300 kms, Rs 48 per km from 301 to 400 kms and so on. It is Rs 40 per km for any distance more than 1200 kms.

She said that earlier, they used to charge for a minimum of 1-ton weight, but now the corporation was allowing to book from 0.5 ton also and the customers can pay only for the half-ton instead of one full ton.

The regional manager announced that the facility will be very much useful to traders and advised them to utilise the APSRTC services. She said that they have made available one cargo vehicle at each depot and another five vehicles were available with them to send to the required depot on demand.
