Vijayawada: The coordinator in Malaysia of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Resident Telugu Society (APNRTS) took the initiative to complete the formalities on a war-footing to send the body of a worker who committed suicide in Malaysia.

Speaking to The Hans India here on Thursday, K Anand, APNRTS Malaysia coordinator, said that 30-year-old Appala Raju from Visakhapatnam, committed suicide on October 31 by hanging. He was working as a welder in Petronas company in Malaysia.

The death of Appala Raju was informed to APNRTS on November 3, immediately Anand swung into action by contacting the Indian High Commission in Malaysia. Lakshmikanth who is the First Secretary to the Indian High Commissioner arranged for sending the body of Appala Raju to his home town Visakhapatnam on November 6 night. The body reached Visakhapatnam on Thursday morning.

The deceased is survived by his wife and two daughters aged two years and five years. APNRTS coordinator Anand informed that about Rs one lakh was spent by the company for the formalities to send the body to India.
