District Collector Praveen Kumar called upon the officials of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) to be impartial in counting the expenditure by contesting candidates in the elections

Eluru: District Collector Praveen Kumar called upon the officials of Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) to be impartial in counting the expenditure by contesting candidates in the elections.

He inaugurated the MCMC cell at Girijan Bhavan here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that the MCMC should certify the advertisement and campaign material print and telecast through the media.

They should calculate the expenses on these advertisements and submit a daily report to the returning officers concerned, he suggested.

The MCMC members should be unbiased while counting the expenses based on clippings of paid news published in newspapers.

They should record the paid news telecast by electronic media with the help of computers and LCD TVs set up in the cell.

Joint Collector M Venugopal Reddy, MCMC members I Subbarao, K Balashouri, L Venkateswara Rao and others were present.
