Amaravati: Chief Whip Gadikota Srikanth Reddy lamented over the tone and tenor of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in his comments against Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

"Naidu's comments on Chief Minister are highly regrettable. He used derogatory language against Jagan," said Srikanth Reddy at a press conference at the YSRCP headquarters at Tadepalli in Guntur district on Tuesday.

If Naidu has any difference of opinion on the programmes of the State government, he was free to criticise them. But Naidu was making illogical statements as he has lost his balance. It is better for him to quit politics than make such statements, Srikanth Reddy said.

He said Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has been striving for people's welfare by implementing the Navaratna schemes. The Chief Minister also initiated programmes for the welfare of the home guards and the police. However, out of frustration, Naidu has been speaking against such welfare measures, the Chief Whip said.

The TDP chief was making statements against the police and belittling them, Srikanth Reddy pointed out. He strongly objected to the former Chief Minister making such comments against the police.
