Kakinada: On the eve of Ganesh festival on September 2, the National Green Core and V B V R Charitable Trust jointly organised an awareness programme on environmental protection and use of clay Ganesha idols on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, endowments department assistant commissioner and MSN Charities Institutions correspondent P V Chalapati Rao strongly advocated for clay idols of Lord Ganesha for environmental protection and to avert pollution.

Corporators of 23 divisions Meesala Sridevi complemented both National Green Core and V B V R Charitable Trust for distributing clay idols of Ganesha to devotees by propagating over the need to protect the environment.

AP Green Core East Godavari coordinator Kesari Srinivasa Rao briefed about the ill effect of chemicals and colors on environment. Later clay idols were distributed by students of the MSN Charities School to public.
