Water Resources Minister P Anil Kumar Yadav assured water to the last acre of land in Rayalaseema.
Kurnool: Water Resources Minister P Anil Kumar Yadav assured water to the last acre of land in Rayalaseema. During the tour of the district, the minister visited Pothireddipadu head regulator at Jupad Bunglow, Banakacharla at Nandikotkur and Velugod reservoir in Atmakur mandals on Friday. He also visited Smriti Vanan, the memorial of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy.
Speaking to media here after visiting the irrigation projects, he said plans had been chalked out to widen the canals of Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanti (HNSS), main, right and left canals of Srisailam Right Bank Canal (SRBC) and Telugu Ganga so that more water could be drawn.
"With the abundant rains this year, almost all reservoirs in the district are full to the brim. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is determined to complete all irrigation projects in the state and ensure that the state does not face water crisis, both irrigation and drinking. From Srikakulam to Kuppam, almost all irrigation projects are being completed on priority basis," said he Water Resources Minister.
