  • Demands Prime Minister to reveal facts on Ladakh skirmish

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) demanded the governments to stop exploiting the people already battered by Covid-19 by raising petrol and diesel prices relentlessly.

PCC president S Sailajanath addressing the media at Andhra Ratna Bhavan here on Thursday, said that there was absolutely no justification whatsoever for increasing fuel prices for the last 16 days. "The government should clarify what was the criterion for enhancing the prices of fuels every day," he demanded.

The increase is reflecting on the prices of essential commodities further burdening the poor and the middle classes, he said.

"At a time people are suffering due to the pandemic, the Centre has lined its pockets with Rs 12 lakh crore by abnormally raising fuel prices," he remarked.

He sought a correlation between fuel prices in the country and crude prices in international market.

Sailajanath demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi reveal the facts to people on what is happening at the line of actual control in Ladakh. The Prime Minister in the all-party meeting stated that nobody crossed the LAC, which is an insult to the sacrifices made by our soldiers, he pointed out.

Criticising the state government for slapping consumers with hefty power bills, the APCC president said that there should be clarity on the real power consumption in the last three months. If there is no clarification, the power bills for the three months should be waived, he demanded.
