CPI to take up series of stirs from Oct 6
CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna announced a series of agitations on October 6, October 13 and October 16 for making their voice heard loud and clear on several issues confronting the state.

Addressing a press conference at the party office here on Friday, Ramakrishna said that the party would express its opposition to uranium mining on October 6 by touring different parts of the state where people were opposed to mining of minerals, especially in Allagadda in Kurnool district.
He appealed to all parties in the AP state to unitedly oppose uranium mining on the lines of Telangana Assembly passing a resolution against uranium mining in Telangana.
Similarly, on August 13, as many as 10 Left parties will participate in a meeting at Vijayawada to discuss on Centre's attitude towards the state's demands, including Special Category Status to the state, implementation of the AP State Reorganization Act and release of funds due to the state under the Act and many issues connecting to the state.
On October 16, the CPI will stage rasta rokos against the Andhra Bank's merger with Syndicate Bank in the form of. Asked to comment on the performance of 4-month-old YSRCP government, Ramakrishna said that although the government had not taken any decision that can be termed as anti-people, the Chief Minister was yet to have a grip on the administration. He could have avoided unnecessary controversies surrounding capital shifting, confusion on sand policy and unnecessary stalemate in construction sector.
"It seems the Chief Minister is averse to all-party meetings and does not want to meet any opposition leader. He is silent on Godavari-Krishna river linking and no statement except of TS Chief Minister has emanated from AP side after both held parleys on the issue," observed the CPI leader.
Ramakrishna said the Chief Minister should also apply pressure on Prime Minister Narendra Modi on SCS to AP as Jagan Mohan Reddy had promised to the people that he would achieve SCS if the people gave him 25 MP seats. The people gave him a massive mandate of 155 Assembly seats and 23 MP seats, he said.
