United Electricity Employees Union (CITU) held a massive dharna in front of Southern Power Distribution Corporation headquarters here on Monday.

In this connection addressing the workers, CITU District Secretary Kandarapu Murali came down heavily on SPDCL higher officials on their neglect attitude in converting the contract employees as permanent employees. He demanded that SPDCL CMD should take steps to permanent the 30,000 contract employees.
More than 20 years thousands of workers, technical staff have been serving the organisation, Murali remembered.
He criticised that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has failed in taking steps for SPDCL contract employees welfare.
In dharna UEEU state President D Haribabu, District Secretary Jayamani and other leaders also spoke. Later they have submitted a representation to CMD HariNathRao on their demands.
In agitation UEEU leaders Srinivasulu, Ramaiah, Kadharvalli, Sathya were present.
