Govt to provide pension to CKD and other patients
The state government has taken four important decisions in the implementation of the health schemes in the state on Saturday.
Amaravati: The state government has taken four important decisions in the implementation of the health schemes in the state on Saturday.
Government-issued orders sanctioning financial assistance to the people suffering from Thalassemia and other chronic diseases, conditions which make persons' dependent on regular medication or on other persons for support.
Dr KS Jawhar Reddy, Principal Secretary, Health Medical and Family Welfare department released the GO Rt No 551 by stating that, "Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced in Palasa, Srikakulam District that financial assistance would be provided to patients suffering from CKD who are in advanced stages".
The issue was referred to a committee of experts to suggest diseases, conditions which might require financial assistance from Government. As per the recommendations of the expert committee, government-issued orders for payment of pension to the persons suffering from certain diseases.
The government will give Rs 10000 per month to each Thalassemia Major, Sickle Cell disease and severe Haemophilia (<2% of factor 8 or 9) patients and Rs 5,000 to Bilateral Elephantiasis-Grade 4, Paralysis confining the persons to wheelchair or bed and severe muscular dystrophy cases and accident victims confined to wheelchair or bed.
It also extended Rs. 5000 to Chronic kidney disease patients (Stage 3, 4 & 5) who are not on dialysis and are having the following conditions.
In another GO Rt 550, Jawahar Reddy issued orders to provide financial assistance to patients who undergo surgical procedures to compensate for wage loss during the postoperative recovery period. This assistance will be given through Dr. YSR Aarogyasri Health Care Trust, Rs 225 per day for the period of recovery prescribed subject to a maximum of Rs 5000 per month.
In another GO No 549, the government enhanced wages up to Rs.16,000 per month for the sanitation or contingent workers, in Teaching Hospitals, District Hospitals & Area Hospitals, CHCs and PHCs with effect from 1st January 2020.
The government expanded Dr YSR Aarogyasri covering 17 super specialities involving 716 procedures in the empanelled hospitals at Hyderabad, Chennai & Bengaluru from 1st November 2019, issued the orders through GO No 548.
