Guntur: 3 killed as auto-rickshaw rams lorry
Three persons, including a lorry driver and its cleaner, were killed when an auto-rickshaw rammed into a stationary lorry from behind near Manipal Hospital at Tadepalli in Guntur district in the early hours of Saturday.

The deceased were identified as G Mall Reddy (50), lorry driver, Manneru Brahmmaiah (56), lorry cleaner, and Gannamaneni Prabhakar, a passenger in the ill-fated auto-rickshaw. The accident happened when the auto-rickshaw at breakneck speed rammed into a stationary lorry, laden with iron rods.
The auto-rickshaw hit the driver and cleaner first when they were carrying out repairs to the vehicle which broke down. The lorry was on its way to Rajamahendravaram in East Godavari district from Singarayakonda in Prakasam district. The injured were identified as P Yedukondalu and T TirumalaRao.
Tadepalli Tahsildar T Srinivasa Reddy, Circle Inspector K Mallikarjuna Rao rushed to spot. Tadepalli police registered the case and took up investigation.
