GVMC Commissioner calls for judicious use of water in Visakhapatnam
GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan has directed the staff concerned to ensure water supply to the area in zone 1 by Wednesday. He inspected the water pump station at TSR complex on Tuesday and made several suggestions in the wake of breach to Yeleru canal.
Visakhapatnam: GVMC Commissioner M Hari Narayanan has directed the staff concerned to ensure water supply to the area in zone 1 by Wednesday. He inspected the water pump station at TSR complex on Tuesday and made several suggestions in the wake of breach to Yeleru canal.
Later, he enquired the staff whether water supply was restored to zone 2 and 3 or not. Stating that people in the city were facing water
problem due to the breach, he underlined the need for judicious use of water.
Meanwhile, at a review meeting, the Municipal Commissioner directed the authorities concerned to maintain water supply records properly. He added that collection of water cess and property tax should be taken up on daily basis and water should be pumped to all reservoirs to ensure regular supply.
